This webinar is being presented by The Empower Project, an Edinburgh based charity supporting communities to end gender based violence.

Digital Self-Care: Being a Woman Online is a webinar including practical tips looking at our reality, tackling online abuse + digital fatigue, being an active bystander and digital self-care.

We know it’s tough to be a woman online, especially right now. At this time of a global health crisis, we are spending much more time in digital spaces. We are meeting up with our family and friends on Zoom and Friday night wines now consist of staring into our laptops (wine consumption is definitely on the up too!)

With our office spaces now in our home, cups of tea with colleagues and team meetings now happen in a virtual setting. It can be stressful and sometimes overwhelming to keep in touch with those we love, the news and work colleagues in this new and unchartered world. And living in this new world is compounded with the challenging world that so many women navigate online already. This is the world where 20% of young women living in the EU have experienced sexual harassment online, where women hold back their opinions because they are afraid of criticism and where so often, marginalised women’s voices are not heard.

Please note this is a safe space for women only, inclusive of trans and intersex women, non-binary and gender fluid people.
