Looking to learn some new skills?

Join us for our small group interactive online workshops where, with two-way screen sharing, we will walk you through the basics of a piece of software and can provide real time assistance.

Blender is a free and open source software. It is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux. Blender has a wide range of tools that allow you to model, animate, render and video edit, and because it’s easy to switch between these workflows, it’s a great tool to get started with. It is a good alternative to 3ds Max, MAYA, and Cinema 4D. In this workshop, you will be familiarised with the interface, shortcuts, and basic operations. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to create basic 3D models of physical objects and render them.

Please note you will require a computer (check the hardware requirements: https://www.blender.org/download/requirements/) and a mouse to properly operate this software. Please use a mouse with a scroll wheel and keyboard with number pad, if possible.

The following is required before attending workshop:

Please complete the following steps before the designated workshop time:

  1. Download and install the Blender application – Blender 
  2. Download the workshop files: Flower Model (obj format), Vase image (1920×1199 jpg), Blender Shortcuts
  3. Download and install Discord on your computer: Discord
  4. Create a Discord account
  5. Join the uCreate discord Server
  6. Be available in the voice channel “Workshop Waiting Room” at least 5 minutes before the workshop begins.
