In a cluttered digital landscape where content must grab a user’s attention within mere seconds, short-form video like TikToks and Instagram Reels are key to engage with current and prospective students.
This hour-long session will introduce you to the short-form video format and its monumental impact on social media. Discover the perks of using short-form video in your marketing strategy, examples of how it has been used in the context of higher education, and most importantly – how you can use it to connect with “kids these days”.
About the presenters - Ari Badlishah and Eboni Greenhowe
Ari is a Digital Engagement Officer working for the Online Learning Marketing Team. Her main role is to promote the University’s online masters programmes and free short online courses. Ari is eager to help people discover the wealth of valuable knowledge they can gain from wherever they may have internet access. Previously she worked as a Digital Marketing Intern within the same team while completing an MSc Marketing with the University.
Eboni has over 5 years of Social Media management experience, including her role as Digital Engagement Officer for the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and prior Digital Experience Lead at Edinburgh University Students Association. She has also recently completed the CIM Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing. Eboni is passionate about delivering persona centred and data-led social media strategy.
